| Tenor Pan (cycle of fifths lead)
| |
The tenor pan was designed by Anthony Williams and modified by Herman Johnson to it's present form. It is certainly the most common member of the steel pan family. The tenor pan has between 28 and 36 notes depending on the builder. In our band, the main job of the tenor pan is to play melody lines and phrasing. However, it can be used very effectively to play chords and rhythm parts. You can click on the Lessons below to start learning more about the tenor pan.
